Memorise: Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10
Read: Matthew 6:9-13
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
Bible in one year: Acts 20-21, Jeremiah 38:24-39:10

AS REVEALED BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

1. “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing for your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:2
2. God is a God of purpose and He is highly organised. He plans far ahead of His deeds. For instance, Ephesians 1:4 says that long before God laid the foundations of the earth, He had already chosen us to live a holy and blameless life before Him.
3. God knows exactly what He wants and where He is going. God could not have created the world and everything in it without a definite plan and purpose for His creation (Isaiah 45:18).
4. He has a will which is clearly revealed by His word. May God cause you to know His plan for your life and give you the grace to follow it in Jesus’ Name.
5. From the teaching of Jesus commonly known as “the Lord’s prayer”, one thing is very clear: only the will of God is done in Heaven where He dwells. No one can violate His will or commandment over there and continue to stay there. He cannot live with rebels; hence, Lucifer and the angels who rebelled against God were thrown out of Heaven (Isaiah 14:12-15).
6. Everyone and everything existing in Heaven conforms to God’s will and plan, and they all make Him happy. How about on earth?
7. Since the fall of man, Satan and his demons have done a lot to cause men to take after their rebellious path. For this reason, Jesus Christ came so that we can once again unite with those in Heaven in doing God’s will and pursing His pleasure. Matthew 6:10 says, “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”
8. Why were you saved? God saved you so that you can join His family in Heaven in doing His will. David had this understanding, and so he said in Psalm 143:10: “Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.
9. You are here on earth to do His will and not to please yourself (Romans 12:2). For this reason, Colossians 1:16 says we were created by Him and for Him. You were created for His purpose.
10. At the end of time, only those who followed God’s will diligently on earth will be translated to continue doing so in Heaven.
11. Whose will are you following? Are you daily doing God’s will or yours?

SHORT REFLECTION BY THE LIGHT POINTERS

The ultimate responsibility of every believer should be centered on pleasing the Almighty God. He who knows the end from the beginning. Most times, instead of submitting everything to God and allow His will to be done in our life, we strive and try to do things in our own ways which eventually lead to failure. We should learn from Peter, a fisher man who has made all efforts yet failed to catch any fish, but as soon as he submitted his will to God, the tide turned in his favour. Consider what Peter said “But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” Luke‬ ‭5:5‬. When was the last time you responded to God with “at Your word” May we always submit our will to God. God bless Pastor E.A Adeboye and equip him with greater wisdom to impact us more in Jesus name.

Prayer Point
Father, teach and grant me grace to do Your will with all my heart.
HYMN
1 Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
2 Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.
3 Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.
4 Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.
5 Take my will and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.
6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee.
