OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL FRIDAY MAY 20TH 2022 THE SEVEN SEALS II.

MEMORISE:
And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword. Revelation 6:4

READ: Revelation 6:3 -4
3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.

4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a great sword.

MESSAGE

After the Anti-Christ has arrived and has been crowned, the second seal will be opened. Now, remember that from yesterday’s study, we say that the whole world was happy with their new leader who seemed to be a promoter of peace. However, when the second seal is opened, they will see the true colour of their leader. He will provoke war. At that time, all his diplomacy will be gone.

When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
Matthew 24:15

The words of Daniel referred to by Jesus in the above passage are in Daniel 11:31:
And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.

The arms that will be on his part are represented by the man on the red horse that will be released when the second seal is opened. Now the Anti-Christ will have the military at his fingertips. Though he would have allowed the Israelites to rebuild their temple, he will sacrifice pigs on the altar of that temple. Anyone that knows Jewish law will know that Jews can never tolerate that. War will break out! This will be the war of all wars. Some countries will support the Anti-Christ and some will be against him. I pity those who will be on earth at this time. The war will be terrible, so terrible that Jesus warned thus:

Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not it the winter, neither on the Sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Matthew 24:16-21

I pray you will not miss the rapture, in Jesus’ name.

KEY POINT
Let he who is wise stay away from sin.

HYMN6: HO MY COMRADES SEE THE SIGNAL
1. Ho, my comrades, see the signal, waving in the sky!
Reinforcements now appearing, victory is nigh.

Refrain:
“Hold the fort, for I am coming,”
Jesus signals still;
Wave the answer back to heaven,
“By Thy grace we will.”

2. See the mighty host advancing,
Satan leading on,
Mighty ones around us falling,
courage almost gone!

3. See the glorious banner waving,
Hear the trumpet blow!
In our Leader’s Name we
triumph over every foe.

but our help is near,
Onward comes our great Commander,
cheer, my comrades, cheer!

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL THURSDAY MAY 19TH 2022 THE SEVEN SEALS I.

MEMORISE:

And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. Revelation 6:1

READ: Revelation 6:1 -2

1 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.

2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

MESSAGE

After the rapture has happened and God has taken His children out of this world, seven seals will be opened in heaven and some notable events will take place in the earth.

Revelation 6:1-2 says:

And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see. And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

When Jesus opened the first seal, John saw a man sitting on a white horse and holding a bow. The man was given a crown and then he went forth to conquer. This man is the Anti-Christ. He will be given a crown over the whole world after the rapture. At that time, the whole world will come together under one body and he will be made the leader. If you noticed in the passage above, he has a bow but no arrow. This is because he will not conquer with force but with diplomacy. He will be perceived as a man of peace. He will be so diplomatic that he will be loved by everyone. He will even allow the Jews to rebuild the temple.

There have been many speculations as to who the Anti-Christ is. At one time, people said it was Adolph Hitler, but clearly that is not correct. Some people say that he is already born and will begin his campaign to rule the world when he is thirty years old. This is assuming that he will pattern his life after Jesus Christ. I cannot say who the Anti-Christ is, but one thing I know is that the devil is waiting eagerly for that time when he will raise him to rule the earth and since he knows that rapture will happen very soon, his own agent must also be ready. For me, it doesn’t matter who the Anti-Christ is because I will not be here when he is ruling the world. What about you? Will you still be here when the Anti-Christ arises? The answer to that question is not about what you say, but rather, how you live your life now. If you live holy now, then you will not be here then, but if you still engage in sin, then God help you when the Anti-Christ arises.

REFLECTION

Some people will be safe in heaven by the time the Anti-Christ begins its rule on earth. Where will you be when that time comes?

HYMN 2: CONQERORS AND OVERCOMERS NOW WE ARE

1 Conquerors and overcomers now are we,

Thro’ the precious blood of Christ we’ve victory

If the Lord be for us we can never fail,

Nothing ‘gainst His mighty power can e’er prevail.

Refrain:

Conquerors are we, thr’o the blood of Jesus

God will give us victory, thro’ the blood of Jesus

Through the Lamb for sinners slain,

Yet who lives and reigns again,

More than conquerors are we,

More than conquerors are we.

2 In the name of Israel’s God we’ll onward press,

Overcoming sin and all unrighteousness;

Not to us but unto Him the praise shall be,

For salvation and for blood bought victory.

3 Unto Him that overcometh shall be given,

Here to eat of hidden manna sent from Heaven,

Over yonder He the victors palm shall bear,

And a robe of white, and golden crown shall wear.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL WEDNESDAY MAY 18TH 2022 THE GOD OF JACOB

MEMORISE: And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me. Genesis 32:26

READ: Luke 18:1 -7

1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;

2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:

3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.

4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;

5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.

6 And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.

7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?

MESSAGE

Our God being the God of Jacob means that He is the God of love, because when you read Genesis 29, you will find Jacob to be a man who, because of love worked for fourteen years without pay. That is a great demonstration of love. 1 John 4:8 also tells us that God Himself is love.

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

The God of Jacob is also the God of answered prayers. In Genesis 32:1-32, when Jacob knew that Esau was coming to kill him, he prayed all night, refusing to leave God’s representative and by the following morning (genesis 33:1-4), instead of Esau killing him, he embraced him and wept because God had intervened.

Now, there is something we must take note of in Jacob; he prayed all night. The reason many of us don’t get our prayers answered is that we don’t pray persistently. The God of Jacob answers the prayers of those who pray persistently, those who don’t stop praying until He gives them what they want.

When you are cutting a tree, there is always that last strike of the axe that will bring it down. If you stop too early, the tree will remain standing and even get stronger as the days go by. Don’t leave that problem standing, keep knocking on the door of heaven until God solves all your problems and makes your joy full. It is Jesus Himself who said we should keep calling on God day and night:

And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? Luke 18:7

Don’t think you are disturbing God with your prayers at all; He said in Isaiah 62:7 “And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth.”

I will keep crying to God day and night (I Thessalonians 5:17). I will give Him no rest until He answers all my prayers. I hope you will do the same.

KEY POINT

Give God no rest until all your prayer have been answered.

HYMN 26: WE ARE NEVER NEVER WEARY OF THE GRAND OLD SONG

1. We are never, never weary

of the grand old song;

Glory to God, hallelujah!

We can sing it loud as ever,

with our faith more strong;

Glory to God, hallelujah!

Refrain

O, the children of the Lord have

a right to shout and sing,

For the way is growing bright,

and our souls are on the wing;

We are going by and by

to the palace of a King!

Glory to God, hallelujah!

2. We are lost amid the

rapture of redeeming love

Glory to God, hallelujah!

We are rising on its pinions

to the hills above:

Glory to God, hallelujah! [Refrain]

3. We are going to a palace

that is built of gold;

Glory to God, hallelujah!

Where the King in all His

splendor we shall soon behold

Glory to God, hallelujah! [Refrain]

4. There we’ll shout redeeming

mercy in a glad, new song;

Glory to God, hallelujah!

There we’ll sing the praise of Jesus

with the blood washed throng;

Glory to God, hallelujah! [Refrain]

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL TUESDAY MAY 17TH 2022 THE GOD OF ISAAC

MEMORISE: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; Genesis 22:17

READ: Genesis 22:1 -18

1 And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am.

2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

3 And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

4 Then on the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off.

5 And Abraham said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you.

6 And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together.

7 And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

11 And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

15 And the angel of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,

16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son:

17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;

18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

MESSAGE

The God of Isaac is the God of laughter (Genesis 21:1-7). He is not just the God of laughter, but also the God of multiplication. Our Bible reading today tells us how God asked Abraham to offer Isaac as a sacrifice and how he (Abraham) was about to do so before God stopped him. God later on blessed Abraham:

…in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies. Genesis 22:17

How does He multiply? In Genesis 26:12-14, the Bible tells us that when Isaac sowed, in the same year, he had a hundredfold return. This therefore means that the God of Isaac is the God of a hundredfold returns. When you look at the last promise in Genesis 22:17, you see God saying that Abraham’s seed will possess the gate of his enemies. In those days, the gate was the centre of a city’s economy.

This means that when the God of Isaac is your God, you will become so prosperous that whether nations like you or not, they would have to do whatever you say.

It is unfortunate however, that many Christians are not this prosperous and this is because they are not like Isaac. When Abraham was going to offer a sacrifice to God, Isaac asked his father, “I can see the wood, I can see the fire, where is the animal to be sacrificed?” (Genesis 22:7). Abraham said God would provide the lamb. The moment Abraham started binding him, Isaac know he was the sacrifice. Abraham bound him and laid him on the wood, yet Isaac cooperated all the way. If he had decided to struggle just a little, he would have won because there is no way a man who is over a hundred years old can hold a teenager down. However, Isaac was ready to give himself as a sacrifice to the Most High God. Only those who can sacrifice their all can enjoy the kind of multiplication that the God of Isaac gives. Solomon sacrificed what no man ever did and God blessed him more that every other man. Sow a seed that will really cost you – a sacrificial offering. If you want to be so prosperous that you will control the economies and politics of nations, then nothing must be too big for you to give to God.

ACTION POINT

Give a sacrificial offering to a church , person or project that you are sure is for God.

HYMN 25: TO GOD BE THE GLORY GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE

1 To God be the glory, great things He hath done,

So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,

Who yielded His life our redemption to win,

And opened the life-gate that all may go in.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,

Let the earth hear His voice;

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,

Let the people rejoice;

Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,

And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.

2 Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,

To every believer the promise of God;

The vilest offender who truly believes,

That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

3 Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,

And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;

But purer, and higher, and greater will be

Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL MONDAY 16TH MAY 2022 THE GOD OF ABRAHAM

MEMORISE: Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. Exodus 3:6

READ: Genesis 17:1 -8

1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.

3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,

4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.

7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

8 And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

MESSAGE

In the memory verse today, God introduced himself to Moses as the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. In Yorubaland where I’m from, the meaning of the name of a man gives you deep insight into the kind of person that fellow is. Thus, in order to get deep insight into who our God really is, we will be looking at this introduction more deeply for the next few days.

What is the implication of the fact that God is the God of Abraham? It means that He is a God of blessings (Genesis 12:1-3). In Genesis 24:34-35, Abraham’s servant said, “God has blessed my master greatly”. Also, the name “God of Abraham” tells us that He is a covenant-keeping God. Deuteronomy 7:9 tells us that He is a God who keeps covenants and we see that clearly in the case of Abraham because in Exodus 2:23-24, when the children of Israel were suffering in Egypt, the Bible says that God remembered His covenant with Abraham. This was even long after Abraham had died. Thus, in Exodus 3:6-12, God decided to do something about the liberation of the children of Israel from Egypt.

The God of Abraham is the God of blessings. Therefore, if you serve the God of Abraham, then you are entitled to the blessings of Abraham.

Somehow, some Christians are not enjoying these blessings. The reason may be linked to what God told Abraham in Genesis 17:1:

And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

God had made a covenant with Abraham for over 25 years, but it wasn’t until Abraham began to walk before God perfectly that it took effect. Genesis 21:5 tells us that Abraham was 100 years old when Isaac was born, just a little above 9 months after God told him to be perfect. Believe me honestly, if you start living holy, the blessings of Abraham will pursue and overtake you. Those ‘little sins’ you still commit will keep on hindering God’s promises from coming to pass in your life if you don’t stop them right away. Those little foxes are spoiling your vine; get rid of them now!

KEY POINT

Sin hinders the fulfillment of God’s promises in the life of His children.

HYMN 21: STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF GOD

1 Standing on the promises of Christ my King,

Through eternal ages let His praises ring,

Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,

Standing on the promises of God.

Standing, standing,

Standing on the promises of God my Savior;

Standing, standing,

I’m standing on the promises of God.

2 Standing on the promises that cannot fail,

When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,

By the living Word of God I shall prevail,

Standing on the promises of God.

3 Standing on the promises I now can see

Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;

Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,

Standing on the promises of God.

4 Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,

Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,

Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,

Standing on the promises of God.

5 Standing on the promises I shall not fall,

List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call.

Resting in my Savior as my All in all,

Standing on the promises of God.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL SUNDAY MAY 15TH 2022 CHURCH WORKER OR FAITHFUL LABOURER?

THEME: CHURCH WORKER OR FAITHFUL LABOURER?

MEMORISE: Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest. Matthew 9:38

READ: Matthew 9:35 -38

35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

MESSAGE

It is not difficult to find Church workers, but it is difficult to find faithful laborers. The Church is constantly teeming with men and women who are interested in working for the Lord. However, the Lord is not looking for workers who only want to show the world that they are serving the God; instead He seeks faithful laborers who will indeed be committed to winning the souls into the kingdom through their various services in the church.

In memory verse for today, Jesus tells His disciples to pray to God to send labourers to do the work.Jesus is interested in people who will be committed to the saving of the lost. They are the kind of workers who, even if they are cleaners in Church, would be praying over each seat in the Church auditorium as they clean, praying that those who sit there would be transformed by the word of God. Such workers would pray that anybody who would attend the service that day without having given his or her life to Christ would do so before leaving the Church. Such people, as ushers, would not only be interested in looking good on Sundays, but praying to God to direct each person to the seat where the word can reach them without any hindrance or distraction.

People who do everything with one goal in mind will be brought into the light of Christ. There is the testimony of a man of God who died and enter the heaven. While he was on earth, he would conduct services, crusades, and meetings and there would be so many miracles, hearings and such a heavy presence of the Holy Spirit. In heaven he was shown why he had always experienced such success in his ministry. There was an old woman who always followed him about whenever he was holding a service; she would begin to intercede for him until the end of the meeting. The woman was so consecrated to God that her prayers were always like thunder in heaven. Jesus attributed the success of this man’s ministry to the silent labour of the faithful old woman.

God is looking for soulwinners, not just busy workers. God wants all men to be saved (1 Timothy 2:4).

Are you a workforce of the Lord? If not, you need to sign up today. If you are already in the Lord’s workforce, make sure you are a faithful laborer.

PRAYER POINT

Heavenly Father, please make me a faithful laborer in Your vineyard in Jesus name.

HYMN 28: WHEN WE WALK WIT THE LORD

1 When we walk with the Lord

in the light of his word,

what a glory he sheds on our way!

While we do his good will,

he abides with us still,

and with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way

to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2 Not a burden we bear,

not a sorrow we share,

but our toil he doth richly repay;

not a grief or a loss,

not a frown or a cross,

but is blest if we trust and obey. [Refrain]

3 But we never can prove

the delights of his love

until all on the altar we lay;

for the favor he shows,

for the joy he bestows,

are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]

4 Then in fellowship sweet

we will sit at his feet,

or we’ll walk by his side in the way;

what he says we will do,

where he sends we will go;

never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL SATURDAY MAY 14TH 2022 DON’T GO BACK TO SODOM

MEMORISE: As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. Proverbs 26:11

READ: Hebrews 6:4 -8

4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

MESSAGE

In Genesis 13, Abraham gave Lot the opportunity of choosing where he would settle. As soon as Lot made his choice, Abraham chose another place to settle in, so as to avoid their men fighting. The Bible says that Lot chose to settle in Sodom because it looks attractive, like the land of Egypt. Note that Egypt was very well known for all kind of sins in those days. By Genesis 14, Lot had gotten into trouble; because he was living in Sodom, he got captured along with Sodomites when there was a battle. Abraham heard that his nephew had been captured, so he went after the army and rescued him. In Genesis 19, when God sent angels to Sodom, who did the angels meet at the gate? Lot. If you made a wrong choice before and God rescue you, is it not foolishness to go back to that same mistake?

So people say you can backslide as many times as you want, after all, the prodigal son was received by his father when he returned. How many times did the prodigal son leave the house? He left only once. Thus, if you think that the story of the prodigal son is an excuse for falling into sin again and again, you are deceiving yourself. My prayer is that if you have made any wrong choice, the Almighty God will correct you today and give you the grace never to repeat your mistakes.

Lot went back to Sodom and eventually lost everything. The following Scriptures tell us the end of Lot’s children who are the Moabites and Ammonites:

And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the Lord. Jeremiah 48:42

Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the Lord.

Jeremiah 49:2

Proverbs 29:1 says the one who is often reproved but hardens his neck shall perish suddenly and without repentance. Be careful. If you have fallen before and God has corrected and delivered you, don’t make a mistake again.

KEY POINT

Don’t return to your vomit

THEME: DON’T JOIN YOURSELF TO A HARLOT

MEMORISE: What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. 1 Corinthians 6:16

READ: Numbers 25:1 -18

1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.

2 And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.

3 And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.

4 And the LORD said unto Moses, Take all the heads of the people, and hang them up before the LORD against the sun, that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from Israel.

5 And Moses said unto the judges of Israel, Slay ye every one his men that were joined unto Baalpeor.

6 And, behold, one of the children of Israel came and brought unto his brethren a Midianitish woman in the sight of Moses, and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel, who were weeping before the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

7 And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from among the congregation, and took a javelin in his hand;

8 And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.

9 And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.

10 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

11 Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, hath turned my wrath away from the children of Israel, while he was zealous for my sake among them, that I consumed not the children of Israel in my jealousy.

12 Wherefore say, Behold, I give unto him my covenant of peace:

13 And he shall have it, and his seed after him, even the covenant of an everlasting priesthood; because he was zealous for his God, and made an atonement for the children of Israel.

14 Now the name of the Israelite that was slain, even that was slain with the Midianitish woman, was Zimri, the son of Salu, a prince of a chief house among the Simeonites.

15 And the name of the Midianitish woman that was slain was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was head over a people, and of a chief house in Midian.

16 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

17 Vex the Midianites, and smite them:

18 For they vex you with their wiles, wherewith they have beguiled you in the matter of Peor, and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, which was slain in the day of the plague for Peor’s sake.

MESSAGE

Of all the sins that God considers destructive, sexual immorality is the worst. This is the type of sin that is done against the body. It is like a man putting fire under himself and then sitting on it. He will surely be burnt.

I Corinthians 6:18 says

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

In Numbers 22 to 24, Balaam the prophet was asked to curse the people of Israel. Each time he opened his mouth to curse them, only blessings came forth. There was no way he could curse the blessed people of God. However, by the time you get to Numbers 25, the people had by themselves walked into a curse by committing fornication and adultery. Anyone who commits adultery has placed a curse on his own head.

Proverbs 6:26 says:

For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.

Oh, the person may seem so good and difficult to resist because of his or her good looks and tenderness; you had better run. This is what the Bible says about a strange woman:

For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edge sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

Proverbs 5:3-5

Beloved, run away from sexual immorality.

If you are married, let your wife or your husband be enough for you. If you are experiencing challenges in your marriage, you should go to God in prayer, pleading for His intervention. See your pastor or a godly counsellor for advice on what to do. In no way should you join yourself to another because this kind of sin will only lead to death and destruction.

PRAYER POINT

Father, no strange woman (or man) after my destiny will succeed in Jesus name.

HYMN 1: ALL TO JESUS I SURRENDER

1 All to Jesus I surrender,

All to Him I freely give ;

I will ever love and trust Him,

In His presence daily live.

I surrender all, … I surrender all ; . . .

All to Thee, my blessed Saviour, I surrender

all. . . .

2 All to Jesus I surrender,

Humbly at His feet I bow ;

Worldly pleasures all forsaken—-

Take me, Jesus, take me now.

3 All to Jesus I surrender,

Make me, Saviour, wholly Thine ;

Let the Holy Spirit witness

I am Thine and Thou art mine.

4 All to Jesus I surrender :

Lord, I give myself to Thee ;

Fill me with Thy love and power,

Let Thy blessing rest on me.

5 All to Jesus I surrender :

Now I feel the sacred flame ;

Oh the joy of full salvation !

Glory, glory to His name !

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL WEDNESDAY MAY 11TH 2022 IN THE TIME OF PEACE, PREPARE FOR WAR III

THEME: IN THE TIME OF PEACE, PREPARE FOR WAR III

MEMORISE:

And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated. Deuteronomy 34:7

READ: Joshua 14:7 -12

7 Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.

8 Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.

9 And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.

10 And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.

11 As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.

12 Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.

MESSAGE

There are many people in the hospital now who would not have been there if only they had been eating healthy foods and exercising regularly. They ate whatever they felt like eating and did not do any exercise because they didn’t seem to be having any health challenges, only to find out later that a disease had been growing inside them all the while. In the time when you are feeling healthy, that is when you should pay good attention to your health. For those whose health deteriorated to such an extent that they landed in the hospital, it may be too late for them to go out and exercise. They can only pray for God to heal them and I am quite sure that when they get better, they will begin to eat healthy. I join my faith with whoever is reading this from the sickbed now; be healed in Jesus’ name. I know some Christians will quote 1Timothy 4:8;

For bodily exercise profiteth little; but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.

They interpret the verse above to mean that spiritual exercise is the only important thing to consider. That passage however, did not say physical exercise does not profit at all. It says it profits little. That little profit must not be ignore. A lot Arests on that ‘little’ as you cannot be as spiritually profitable as you would be if you were sick. God needs your body to help Him fulfil His will on the earth. The more Christians live healthy, the more work He can use them to do and the longer they can do the work. God was able to use Moses right up until he was 120 years old because Moses was strong and healthy even at that age. Caleb was able to say, “Give me this mountain” at the age of 85 because he was strong and healthy. Take care of that body. Don’t let it break down before you pay attention to it. If you find out that when you walk a few miles, you start panting, you need to start exercising. If your back seems to be aching more quickly than before, then maybe your sugar intake is becoming too much. Pay attention to your health now so that you don’t run into trouble later.

It is advisable to have a comprehensive medical check-up once or twice a year. It is not just when you are feeling sick that you should ask the doctor to examine you. By then, it may be late.

REFLECTION

When was the last time you did a comprehensive medical check up

HYMN 16: O GOD OUR HELP IN AGES PAST

1 O God, our help in ages past,

Our hope for years to come,

Our shelter from the stormy blast,

And our eternal home.

2 Under the shadow of Thy throne

Thy saints have dwelt secure;

Sufficient is Thine arm alone,

And our defence is sure.

3 Before the hills in order stood,

Or earth received her frame,

From everlasting Thou art God,

To endless years the same.

4 A thousand ages in Thy sight

Are like an evening gone;

Short as the watch that ends the night

Before the rising sun.

5 Time, like an ever-rolling stream,

Bears all its sons away;

They fly forgotten, as a dream

Dies at the opening day.

6 O God, our help in ages past,

Our hope for years to come,

Be Thou our guard while life shall last,

And our eternal home.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL TUESDAY MAY 10TH 2022 IN THE TIME OF PEACE, PREPARE FOR WAR II

MEMORISE:

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; Ephesians 6:18

READ: Ephesians 6:10 -18

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

MESSAGE

There was no war when Abraham was training his servant to fight, but the day came when he needed to rescue his nephew. By then, he had 318 soldiers to take to war. If you study the story of Abraham you would realize that he never had to fight another war afterwards, but that one time that he fought was worth all the preparation he had gone through (Genesis 14:14-16). David also didn’t start learning to use his sling on the day he slew Goliath. He had perfected its use long before that. He had been practicing how to use the sling long before he ever set eyes on the giant. You never can tell when you would need to fight; on that day, your victory will depend on whether or not you had been preparing. Ephesians 6:13 says:

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

You are to put on the whole armour of God so that you are able to stand in the evil day; be ready ahead of time.

The perfect time to prepare for war is when all is going well. That is the only time that you have to prepare anyway, after all, you can’t start at the war front. Is it at the war front that you would start learning to shoot a gun? Is it when a boxer is in the ring with his opponent that he would start practicing jabs and hooks? Read your Bible and memorise Scriptures now so that when you need to confront the devil tomorrow, you can say, “It is written” like Jesus did in Matthew 4:1-11. Pray hard now, so that if trouble were to arise tomorrow, you can easily decree and the storm would cease.

Some people wonder why we keep fasting again and again, particularly when all seems to be going well. I remember some years ago when I asked the people to fast for 100 days. Not long after that, a crisis broke out, I told my people, “Relax, no harm will come near you because you have already prepared; you’ve paid the price ahead of time”. Those who didn’t join us in our fast were eventually forced to still do so because there was fear all around.

KEY POINT

Make sure that you are spiritually fit so that you will not be defeated by the devil in future.

HYMN 21: STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF GOD

1. Standing on the promises of Christ my King,

Through eternal ages let His praises ring,

Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,

Standing on the promises of God.

o Refrain:

Standing, standing,

Standing on the promises of God my Savior;

Standing, standing,

I’m standing on the promises of God.

2. Standing on the promises that cannot fail,

When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,

By the living Word of God I shall prevail,

Standing on the promises of God.

3. Standing on the promises I now can see

Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;

Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,

Standing on the promises of God.

4. Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,

Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,

Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,

Standing on the promises of God.

5. Standing on the promises I cannot fall,

List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call,

Resting in my Savior as my all in all,

Standing on the promises of God.
