OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL WEDNESDAY JUNE 1ST 2022 LOVE GIVES

MEMORISE: Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. 1 John 3:16

READ: Romans 8:31 -37
31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

MESSAGE
In I Corinthians 13:13, faith, hope and love were described as ‘abiding’. The verse however, went further to say that love is the greatest amongst them. God loved us first before we could love Him in return (I John 4:19). When a person has a good understanding of God’s love for him or her, it is as if a veil is removed from the fellow’s eyes; he or she would suddenly begin to love God in return and then become free from all the shackles of this sinful world. God loves us so much that He considers nothing too big to give to us. Romans 8:32 says:

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

If God could give us the greatest gift ever – His Son (John 3:16), nothing is too big for Him to give to you. Nothing! God gives to us because He is committed to loving us. He expects us to love our neighbours and give to them too. I John 4:21 says:

And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

How much do you love those around you? How much do you love your colleagues in the office? One day, a young man came for one of our Holy Ghost Services in Nigeria and saw his aunt in the middle of the crowd. He screamed, “Aunty, so you come here too? She said, “I just started coming” and he said, “Oh, I have been coming for many years now”. She became angry with him because he had found the light a long time ago but didn’t introduce her to Christ. She was furious that he didn’t warn her that she was on the way to hell.

Are you going to be heartless too and watch your family members go to hell? Why not tell them about Jesus? Why not invite them to Church with you? Why not make it a duty to give them this devotional every year, hoping that even if they refuse to surrender their lives to Christ, one day God will lead them to read it and see something that will touch them there. If you truly love your neighbor, you will lead them to read it and see something that will touch them there. If you truly love your neighbor, you will lead them to that gift the Lord has given to you – salvation.

KEY POINT
The greatest gift you can give to show someone that you love them is the gospel; don’t hold it back.

HYMN 30: WONDERFUL STORY OF LOVE
1 Wonderful story of love!
Tell it to me again;
Wonderful story of love!
Wake the immortal strain.
Angels with rapture announce it,
Shepherds with wonder receive it;
Sinner, O won’t you believe it?
Wonderful story of love!

Refrain:
Wonderful! Wonderful!
Wonderful story, Wonderful story of love!

2 Wonderful story of love!
Though you are far away;
Wonderful story of love!
Still he doth call today.
Calling from Calvary’s mountain,
Down from the crystal bright fountain,
E’en from the dawn of creation;
Wonderful story of love!

3 Wonderful story of love!
Jesus provides a rest;
Wonderful story of love!
For all the pure and blest;
Rest in those mansions above us,
With those who’ve gone on before us,
Singing the rapturous chorus;
Wonderful story of love!

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL MONDAY MAY 30 2022 GOD IS FAITHFUL III

MEMORISE: And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. John 14:3

READ: John 14:1 -4
1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

2 rIn my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.

MESSAGE
One of the promises of God which His faithfulness will bring to pass is the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ gave a promise on behalf of the Holy Trinity that He would return to take His followers home according to the memory verse of today which is also part of our Bible text. It is unfortunate that many people and particularly some theologians are now saying that Jesus Christ will not return physically again! Beloved, if you are being carried away by this satanic teaching, please reconsider; read your Bible again. Do not believe this doctrine of the devil. God is faithful and will never make a promise that He will not fulfil. Jesus said, “…if it were not so, I would have told you…” (John 14:2). He know that there would be scoffers, deceivers and doubters of His second coming. Beloved, I am declaring to you this day that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is coming back and very soon too. The angels corroborated the promises He made to His disciples on behalf of the Holy Trinity in Acts 1:10-11:

And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

The implications of the above Scripture are two-fold. One, those who think Jesus Christ will not be faithful to His promise of the second coming should think again. This is because when He eventually returns, they will be put to shame except they repent. Two, those who will not believe in the faithfulness of God regarding Christ’s second coming will not get themselves ready and when they die in this unbelief, it will be too late to repent as it is appointed for man to die once, after which is judgment (Hebrews 9:27)

Everyone who surrenders their lives to Jesus and abides in Him will become a new creature. Old things will pass away, all things will become new and they will no longer struggle with sin (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Beloved, get prepared; live righteously through faith in Jesus Christ – the Son of the living God.

PRAYER POINT
Father, please increase my belief in Your faithfulness, in Jesus name.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL SUNDAY MAY 29 2022 GOD IS FAITHFUL II

MEMORISE:Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it. Jeremiah 1:12

READ: Isaiah 52:7 -12
7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

8 Thy watchmen shall lift up the voice; with the voice together shall they sing: for they shall see eye to eye, when the LORD shall bring again Zion.

9 Break forth into joy, sing together, ye waste places of Jerusalem: for the LORD hath comforted his people, he hath redeemed Jerusalem.

10 The LORD hath made bare his holy arm in the eyes of all the nations; and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God.

11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the LORD.

12 For ye shall not go out with haste, nor go by flight: for the LORD will go before you; and the God of Israel will be your rereward.

MESSAGE

God promised the salvation of mankind right from the Garden of Eden and though its fulfilment seemed to tarry, it was actualised at the appointed time. This simply tells us that the faithfulness of God will always make good all the promises He has spoken concerning you. Even when it seems it is delayed, wait for it. It will surely come to pass (Habakkuk 2:3).

One aspect of God’s faithfulness we will consider today is that which pertains to our redemption. It is amazing that God began the redemption process almost immediately after the fall of man – promising us ultimate victory, according to Genesis 3:15

When God began to deal with the children of Israel, He had redemption at heart all the way from the days of Abraham. One of His promises to Abraham in Genesis 12:3 has to do with salvation coming from his seed.

Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.
Hosea 1:10

The Scripture above was re-enacted in the New Testament when Paul, an apostle, was affirming the faithfulness of God to His promise of the redemption of the Gentiles (Romans 9:26). Our test of today tells of the promise of God concerning salvation. If you are yet to take advantage of this offer of salvation which was freely promised and given, please do so today before it is too late. The Bible says:

(For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succored thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)
2 Corinthinans 6:2.

For those who have given their lives to Jesus already, be confident that all His promises to you will be performed at the appointed time. Continue to trust in Him with all your heart and be joyful as you wait on Him. I assure you that God is faithful and He will never disappoint you.

ACTION POINT
Search the scripture for God’s promises relating to you and claim them.

HYMN 21: STANDING ON THE PROMISES OF GOD

1. Standing on the promises of Christ my King,
Through eternal ages let His praises ring,
Glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
Standing on the promises of God.

o Refrain:
Standing, standing,
Standing on the promises of God my Savior;
Standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

2. Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
When the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
By the living Word of God I shall prevail,
Standing on the promises of God.

3. Standing on the promises I now can see
Perfect, present cleansing in the blood for me;
Standing in the liberty where Christ makes free,
Standing on the promises of God.

4. Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
Bound to Him eternally by love’s strong cord,
Overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
Standing on the promises of God.

5. Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
List’ning every moment to the Spirit’s call,
Resting in my Savior as my all in all,
Standing on the promises of God.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL SATURDAY MAY 28 2022 GOD IS FAITHFUL I.

THEME: GOD IS FAITHFUL I.

MEMORISE: That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Hebrews 6:18

READ: Deuteronomy 7:7 -9
7 The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people:

8 But because the LORD loved you, and because he would keep the oath which he had sworn unto your fathers, hath the LORD brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondmen, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

MESSAGE
There is only one faithful personality in the whole universe, and that is the Creator Himself. This is why, when He was to swear about His faithfulness to Abraham, He used no other personality than Himself. When we do a survey of God’s dealings with men of old, we would be left without any doubt that God is faithful. For example, God called Abraham out from his father’s house and promised that He would make him a great nation (Genesis 12:1-2). This was when Abraham was yet to have a child. When Abraham, like any human being, was becoming agitated and impatient, God went ahead to renew and increase the content of the covenant that came in the form of a promise.

After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward…And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.
Genesis 15:1,5

These promises were fulfilled in Genesis 21:1-3 and Exodus 1:9-10 in particular, when the Egyptians became afraid of the population of the children of Israel. Pharaoh said to his people:

…the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we: Come on let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come pass, that when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.
Exodus 1:9-10

Beloved, God is faithful to His creation including the fulfilling of times and seasons(Genesis 8:22). He will be faithful to you if you will be faithful to Him as a child of God. Remember, what He said in Exodus 20:6 is still valid. Come to the One who promised us the coming of the Saviour and fulfilled it; your life will be transformed by His faithfulness, in Jesus’ name.

ACTION POINT
Thank and praise God for His faithfulness in all generations and to you in particular.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL FRIDAY MAY 27TH 2022 REBUKE NOT AN ELDER

THEME: REBUKE NOT AN ELDER

MEMORISE:Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren; 1 Timothy 5:1

READ: Proverbs 30:11 -14
11 There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

13 There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.

14 There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

MESSAGE
Sadly, the generation referred to in the Bible reading for today – a generation that curses their own fathers, is living right now in these present times. This is a generation that is puffed up with pride, believing that they know more than the elders; they even call themselves ‘woke’. I am not talking about this because I am an elder myself, but rather because I love you and if I keep quiet, I would be a wicked father watching his children heading for destruction. Indeed, although I have been criticized too many times, I must still say the truth as God has given it to us in the Bible.

Our memory verse today is a clear and divine instruction showing how the younger generation must honour elders. Many youths however, have various excuses for disrespecting and insulting eldlers. One of such excuses they give is that no one is perfect. They believe that even an elder can be wrong and corrected accordingly. That is correct; an elder can indeed be wrong, but while the Bible does not prohibit you from correcting him or her, it clearly says you should intreat such as a father or mother and not rebuke. When you criticize anyone in public, that is a rebuke (I Timothy 5:20); it is against the word of God when done to elders. If an elder has done something that you think is wrong, you could send him or her a message or write a letter stating politely what you think would have been correct; he or she would at least take cognizance of what you have said and make adjustments where necessary.

Also, in the Church, while the youths may feel they have a lot of knowledge and are very agile, you must still give honour to the elders. You shouldn’t just set them aside. You may have a lot of knowledge, but they are more versed in discerning the will of God. They have walked the path that you are walking and have a robust wealth of experience that you can gain a lot from. Give them the honour that they deservce. In fact, the Bible says that you should give them double honour.

Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
I Timothy 5:17.

KEY POINT
Honor your elders

1. We are never, never weary
of the grand old song;

with our faith more strong;
Glory to God, hallelujah!

Refrain
O, the children of the Lord have

We are going by and by
to the palace of a King!
Glory to God, hallelujah!

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL THURSDAY MAY 26TH 2022 PRAYERS FOR ELDERS

MEMORISE: The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness. Proverbs 16:31

READ: Titus 2:1 -5
1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.

3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;

4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,

5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

MESSAGE
1. Father, thank You for our elders. Thank You for preserving and keeping them strong and healthy all these years. We are grateful Lord that we have godly elders to look up to.

2. Father, please keep our elders to a good old age. Don’t let them spend their old age in sickness or sorrow. Let them have peace even in their old age, in Jesus’ name.

4. Father, we pray for wisdom for our elders to advise us and teach us correctly when we go to them with our challenges, in Jesus’ name.

5. Lord, as You backed the blessing of Isaac on Jacob, when our elders bless us, back up their words and let them come to pass, in Jesus’ name.

6. Father, please don’t let our elders become redundant. Let their grace and anointing increase as they grow older. Continue to use them even until the end, in Jesus’ name,

7. Father, give our elders the spiritual sensitivity they need to be great coverings for us. Let them sense ahead of time, whatever the devil may be planning and warn us about it so that we don’t crash, in Jesus’ name.

8. Father, I pray particularly for the elders in my family; whatever we need to make them comfortable, please provide for us in abundance, in Jesus’ name.

9. Father, let all the good prayers and wishes of our elders over us be fulfilled in Jesus’ name. let us, the younger ones, always bring them joy, in Jesus’ name.

10. Father, for every elder who is lonely, please send them company that will love them and take care of them. Let their family members not be able to rest until they begin to take care of their aged ones, in Jesus’ name.

11. Father, protect our elders against people who would try to take advantage of them because of their age. Expose anyone presenting false investments, false medication and the likes in order to steal from our elders. Do not permit our elders to be exploited, in Jesus’ name.

12. Your personal prayer points for the elders in your family and community.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL TUESDAY MAY 24TH 2022 THE SEVEN SEALS VI

MEMORISE: Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: Matthew 24:29

READ: Revelation 6:12 -17
12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

MESSAGE
As the sixth seal was broken, the earth shook. The Bible says there was a great earthquake and the sun became black like a sackcloth of hair. On that day, the Bible says the moon will be as blood and the stars of heaven will fall unto the earth. Heaven will roll away like a scroll and the earthquake will move entire mountains and islands out of their place. Many prophets of old, even Jesus Christ, prophesied about the day (Joel 2:31, Isaiah 34:4, Zephaniah 1:14, Matthew 24:29).

What John saw as stars falling to the earth could be either of two things. Many Bible Scholars say it could be wars of missiles which are already being prepared for by some super-powers. That is the war they say will be fought with missiles. When he missiles are falling, it will look like stars are falling from the sky. It could also be that John saw real stars falling to the earth. If you do a little research, you would see that we have had cases in the past where asteroids fell from space to the earth.

When asteroids are falling, they usually burn as they fall and burn out before they get to the earth. Some big and some harmful asteroids have hit the earth in the past. Now, whether it is missiles or actual space elements falling onto the earth, they will be so many that anyone who looks to the sky will see the sky as if it is rolling away. At the same time, there will be such a great earthquake that mountains and islands will be displaced. May you not be on earth when it happens, in the name of Jesus.

In verses 15-17, we see that great men, including kings, great and rich men, captains of industry, mighty men as well as bondmen will go to hide in dens and caves. This tells you straightaway that the positions that you are pursuing now will mean absolutely nothing at the end. At the end, titles will not matter. The poor and the rich will burn in hell together if they don’t repent. The madam of the house and the maid will be right beside each other burning in hell if they both don’t repent. The C.E.O. and the gateman will both be suffering from God’s wrath if they don’t make it to heaven. A word is enough for the wise.

KEY POINT
Forget about all the care of this world and focus on making heaven.

Now I feel the sacred flame.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL MONDAY MAY 23RD 2022 THE SEVEN SEALS V

MEMORISE: The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. Zephaniah 1:14

READ: Revelation 6:9 -11
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.

MESSAGE
The first four seals involved human beings destroying each other. All that the inhabitants of the world at that time would have seen will look man-made – people destroying each other. From the fifth seal on, the punishment will be coming directly from heaven.

When the fifth seal was opened, John saw under the altar in heaven, the souls of Martyrs – saints who were killed for the sake of the gospel. They were crying for vengeance. This tells us straight away that vengeance is coming for all those who have died and those who are currently suffering for the gospel. If you are one of such saints, take heart; the persecution may be great now, but please don’t try to avenge yourself so that you do not miss your place in heaven in the process. Just keep standing for Christ; the time is coming when your persecutors will be dealt with if they refuse to repent. Take heart, beloved of the Lord and be strong.

Now, John records that the martyrs were given white robes and told to hold on for other Christians on earth who will be martyred too, and then God will avenge them. In that time, many people who will realize their error after missing rapture will be determined to make heaven. It will be very difficult then to be a Christian because the Christians will not worship the Anti-Christ nor take his mark. Now, there are some areas in the world where it is difficult to be a Christian, but those areas are few; after the rapture however, it will be difficult to be a Christian everywhere around the world. The whole world will be against Christians. They will gladly kill any Christian that refuses to take the mark and the government will back them up.

And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed. And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads; And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
Revelation 13:15-17

Do all you can to avoid missing the rapture.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Job 1-5

HYMN 19: O WORSHIP THE KING ALL GLORIOUS ABOVE
1 O worship the King all-glorious above,
O gratefully sing his power and his love:
our shield and defender, the Ancient of Days,
pavilioned in splendor and girded with praise.

2 O tell of his might and sing of his grace,
whose robe is the light, whose canopy space.
His chariots of wrath the deep thunderclouds form,
and dark is his path on the wings of the storm.

3 Your bountiful care, what tongue can recite?
It breathes in the air, it shines in the light;
it streams from the hills, it descends to the plain,
and sweetly distills in the dew and the rain.

4 Frail children of dust, and feeble as frail,
in you do we trust, nor find you to fail.
Your mercies, how tender, how firm to the end,
our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend!

5 O measureless Might, unchangeable Love,
whom angels delight to worship above!
Your ransomed creation, with glory ablaze,
in true adoration shall sing to your praise!

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL SUNDAY MAY 22ND 2022 THE SEVEN SEALS IV

MEMORISE: And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth. Revelation 6:8

READ: Revelation 6:7 -8
7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.

8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.

MESSAGE
If you think the three seals we have discussed in this series so far have been terrifying, you haven’t seen anything yet. There are still four more seals to be opened and studied. According to the Bible, at the opening of the fourth seal, a pale horse would appear with Death sitting on it, hell following close behind. Death will have a field day after rapture. In fact God Himself will allow it take one quarter of the whole earth. Hell will be following right behind it so that as the people are dying, he can be collecting them and putting them through an eternity of torment. After they have suffered so much on earth, they will then go on to continue the suffering in hell. That is what people call “from frying pan to fire”. I’m so glad l will not be here when all this is happening. I and my children-in-the-Lord will be having a beautiful fellowship with God and other saints in heaven.

Some of the people that death will take will be killed by the sword. Remember, a war will be going on at that time. Another set of people will be killed with hunger. That will be as a result of scarcity of food in the whole world. Yet another set will be killed by the beast of the earth. This could either mean that the wild animals will start killing people or that diseases from animals will kill many people. Of course, when there is hunger, people will eat all kinds of animals and these animals will have diseases in them that will be passed on to human population. The Corona virus pandemic that hit two years ago only killed a relatively tiny population of the world and the whole world trembled. Imagine what happen when a quarter of the whole world is dying. That is why, if, you are sure of your salvation, you should preach to others to be saved.

Why are you not preaching the gospel to them? Why are you not inviting them to Church meetings where you know that they will hear the word of God? Why are you staying silent, watching them head towards danger? I know the danger that is coming, so l have determined that l will not stop preaching the gospel. I will go to the nooks and crannies of the world to warn everyone about this imminent danger. I will keep preaching the gospel and l will take as many people as l,can along with me to heaven. What about you?

PRAYER POINT
Father, please don’t let me or anyone I know miss the rapture in Jesus name.

HYMN 29: WILL YOUR ANCHOR HOLD IN THE STORM OF LIFE
1 Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides lift, and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift or firm remain?

We have an anchor that keeps the soul
Stedfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the Rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Savior’s love.

2 It is safely moored, ’twill the storm withstand,
For ’tis well secured by the Savior’s hand;
And the cables passed from His heart to mine,
Can defy the blast, through strength divine.

3 It will firmly hold in the straits of fear,
When the breakers have told the reef is near;
Though the tempest rave and the wild winds blow,
Not an angry wave shall our bark o’erflow.

4 It will surely hold in the floods of death,
When the waters cold chill our latest breath;
On the rising tide it can never fail,
While our hopes abide within the veil.

OPEN HEAVEN DEVOTIONAL SATURDAY MAY 21ST 2022 THE SEVEN SEALS III.

MEMORISE:
And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. Revelation 6:6

READ: Revelation 6:5 -6
5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.

6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

MESSAGE
In the Bible reading for today, we see the third seal opened and a man on a black horse coming forth with a pair of balances in his hand. Revelation 6:6 says:
And l heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny…

At this time, as a result of the war we discussed yesterday, the economy of the whole world will be affected. Agriculture in particular will suffer because most men who would have cultivated crops and reared animals would have been drafted into the army. Even where there is food, transporting it will be a problem so there will be famine all over the world. Bread will be weighed before it is sold. Food will be extremely expensive.

Revelation 6:6 further says:
and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.

Scarce as food will be, luxury goods will not be touched; they will be very much available. Alcoholic drinks that are consumed by the rich will remain but how will a poor and hungry person get money to buy whisky?

Those who think that they are suffering now, yet are still living in sin have not seen anything yet. Those who miss the rapture will experience extreme hunger. Even those that have money will not find enough food to buy. While we in heaven will be enjoying unlimited pleasures, singing and dancing, those on earth will be starving and wailing. Any person who thinks that sin is sweet now should go on sinning; a time is coming when he will realise that sin is bitter. Choosing a life of holiness is the best decision you can ever make because it secures your future in heaven. If you say something is too big for you to drop now in order to make heaven, wait until that time and see if that thing will even be relevant at all.

DECLARE
Nothing will ever be big enough to make me miss heaven, in Jesus’ name.

HYMN 25: TO GOD BE THE GLORY
1 To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life our redemption to win,
And opened the life-gate that all may go in.

Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice;
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice;
Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.

2 Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.

3 Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we see.
