OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL TUESDAY NOVEMBER 8TH 2022 WHY YOU CAN BE SURE OF VICTORY 111

MEMORISE: Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. Psalms 91:3

READ: Mark 6:45 -51

45 And straightway he constrained his disciples to get into the ship, and to go to the other side before unto Bethsaida, while he sent away the people.

46 And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.

47 And when even was come, the ship was in the midst of the sea, and he alone on the land.

48 And he saw them toiling in rowing; for the wind was contrary unto them: and about the fourth watch of the night he cometh unto them, walking upon the sea, and would have passed by them.

49 But when they saw him walking upon the sea, they supposed it had been a spirit, and cried out:

50 For they all saw him, and were troubled. And immediately he talked with them, and saith unto them, Be of good cheer: it is I; be not afraid.

51 And he went up unto them into the ship; and the wind ceased: and they were sore amazed in themselves beyond measure, and wondered.

MESSAGE

The third reason you can always be sure of victory is that God cannot be defeated by air. He says in Isaiah 66:1:

Thus saith the LORD, The heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool: where is the house that ye build unto me? and where is my place of rest?

The Lord is sitting in heaven, His feet are on earth; that means He occupies the entire space. As the witches meet and talk in their coven, planning how to attack a child of God, the Lord is watching their every move and plan. He will never let them win over you, as long as you truly belong to Him. If they can neither defeat Him by land nor sea, they certainly cannot defeat Him by air. If you are on His side, then your safety is guaranteed.

In Joshua 10:1-14, some Kings were attacking Joshua and the people of Israel. God sent heavy stones from heaven to break their heads, then later stopped the sun from setting so the Israelites could finish them off. In Genesis 19:24, God sent brimstone and fire from heaven to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. God will destroy the enemy successfully on land and the sea; He will also bring total ruin to them in the air.

One day, we decided to follow up on a woman who, hadn’t been to church for some time. The woman complained to us when we got to her house, “Since l started coming to your Church, l have not been able to fly at night to meet my fellow witches again.” If your Heavenly Father owns the air, what witch can threaten you? Psalm 91:2-4’says:

I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will l trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

As long as you are a child of God, you can rest assured that you will enjoy divine victory at all times and in all places, because your Heavenly Father is the Master over the sea, land and air.

PRAYER POINT

Heavenly Father,please rain Your brimstone and fire upon all obstacles to my success in Jesus name.

HYMN 2: CONQUERORS AND OVERCOMERS NOW WE ARE

1 Conquerors and overcomers now are we,
Thro’ the precious blood of Christ we’ve victory,
If the Lord be for us, we can never fail;
Nothing ‘gainst his mighty pow’r can e’er prevail.

Refrain:
Conquerors are we, thro’ the blood, thro’ the blood;
God will give us victory, thro’ the blood, thro’ the blood,
Thro’ the Lamb for sinners slain,
Yet who lives and reigns again,
More than conquerors are we,
More than conquerors are we.

2 In the name of Israel’s God we’ll onward press,
Overcoming sin and all unrighteousness;
Not to us, but unto him the praise shall be,
For salvation and for blood-bought victory. [Refrain]

3 Unto him that overcometh shall be giv’n
Here to eat of hidden manna sent from heav’n;
Over yonder he the victor’s palm shall bear,
And a robe of white, and golden crown shall wear. [Refrain]

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL SUNDAY NOVEMBER 6Th 2022 WHY YOU CAN BE SURE OF VICTORY 1

MEMORISE: The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: as for the world and the fulness thereof, thou hast founded them. Psalms 89:11

READ: Psalms 104:1 -5

1 Bless the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.

2 Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:

3 Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind:

4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:

5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.

MESSAGE

As a child of God, you can be sure that God will give you victory no matter the situation you are faced with. The first reason is that nobody can defeat Him on land. Psalm 24:1 says:

The earth is the LORD’s and the fulness thereof; and they that dwell therein.

If your enemy is on land, he cannot win the battle because God was the One who laid the foundations of the earth! In Numbers 16:23-33, some people gathered themselves together against Moses. What the God Almighty did was to speak to the earth to open its mouth and swallow them.

Some people may be gathered against you because your Father is the One who owns the land and the fulness thereof, He will not allow them to overcome you. The ground could not have Jesus because after three days, the Saviour of the world arose from the grave. He has power over the land and so your enemies cannot overwhelm you no matter how hard they try. The ground had Lazarus within it for four days, but the Resurrection and the Life spoke just a word and He came out alive.

When l was much younger, there was a wedding in my village, attended by all the witches and wizards there. I preached against them with everything l had that day. When l finished preaching, they told the mother of the bride, “So you invited this man to come and insult us, right? We will see how your daughter will give birth. The daughter became pregnant and the woman ran to me saying “They said my daughter will never deliver,” l told her, “The day your daughter will deliver, every one of them will be asleep.” The woman delivered safely and the child is now a medical doctor.

As long as the Lord lives, every word against your prosperity on this earth will never come to pass in Jesus name. Lamentation 3:37 says: “Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not.

As long as God is your Father and the earth with its fullness is His, you are guaranteed a safe passage into success and victory in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINT

Heavenly Father in the name that is above every other, I command all contrary power to fall before me now, so that your name alone will be glorified in all area of my life.

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL SATURDAY NOVEMBER 5TH 2022 THE GLORY OF GOD

MEMORISE: I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. Psalms 145:5

READ: Psalms 96:1 -13

1 O sing unto the LORD a new song: sing unto the LORD, all the earth.

2 Sing unto the LORD, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.

3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.

4 For the LORD is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.

5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

6 Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.

7 Give unto the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

8 Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.

9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.

10 Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.

11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.

12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice

13 Before the LORD: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

MESSAGE

If you want to see the glory of God, just look at nature, Sky. The heavens are like a showroom of His glory.

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Psalm 19:1

In Psalm 24:8, David asked who is the King of glory and the answer came back that He is the Lord, strong and mighty. Psalm 29:3 says He is the God of glory. Psalm 138:5 says that great is the glory of the Lord. Up to today, people are still talking about Solomon’s wealth and the splendour and glory of his palace, but Solomon’s glory is like trash before that of God. As rich as Solomon was, he did not build roads using gold. In the city of my Daddy, pure, transparent gold is used as paving stones and the gates are made of pearls.

And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

Revelation 21:21

Oh, my God is glorious! If your father were the richest man in the world, you would let people know that you are the son or daughter of so and so. Your Father in heaven is more glorious than anyone can imagine, so why do you keep quiet about Him? Perhaps you are one of those who get to certain circles and hide their faith. You act as if you are not a child of God in your office or at secular events. If your father were the richest man in the world, you would use your surname everywhere you go. You should be proud of your Daddy, telling everyone about Him everywhere you go. In fact, His glory should be radiating through you so much that anyone that sees you will know that you are a child of God.

Verse 3 of today’s Bible reading says you should declare God’s glory among the heathen, not just when you are in Church amongst Christians. Verse 10 says that you should tell the people that God reigns; He is the Kings of kings and is coming to judge people righteously. Do you do these things?

KEY POINT

God is too glorious for you not to talk about Him, tell someone about Him today.

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL FRIDAY NOVEMBER 4TH 2022 DO YOU LOVE GOD?

MEMORISE: He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:8

READ: 1 John 4:7 -21

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

19 We love him, because he first loved us.

20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

MESSAGE

Whether you love God or not is not known by your claims but rather, your attitude to His word. John 15:14 says:

You are my friends, if ye do whatsoever l command you.

Do you obey the commands of the Lord? If you do, then you love God. However, if you don’t, then you don’t love Him. In John 14:15, He said:

If ye love me, keep my commandments.

In John 15:12, Jesus told us one of those commandments you must keep if you say you love God.

This is my commandment, That ye love one another, just as l have loved you.

John 15:12

Now, that is a hard commandment to keep because some people are just so hard to love. This is why, at our Ministers’ conference in Nigeria, l always tell the attendees to say to the fellow sitting next to them, “I love you compulsorily”. On one occasion, one person was sitting next to someone who just offended him, so he said, “l love you compulsorily, you stupid fellow”. The people around you may be hard to love, but you must love them. You have no choice if you really want to love God.

When He says love one another as l have loved you, you se how difficult that is when you read 1 John 3:16:

Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

You, therefore, see that your excuses for not preaching to others who are heading for hell are flimsy. If you love them just as Jesus loves you, you would be willing to lose anything so that they will not go to hell. It is because some missionaries laid down their lives to preach the gospel that you are on your way to heaven today. Why is it so hard for you to do the same for someone else?

kEY POINT

If you truly love God, you will be ready to sacrifice anything to ensure you preach the gospel to the unsaved and bring them to Christ.

HYMN 30: WONDERFUL STORY OF LOVE

1 Wonderful story of love!

Tell it to me again;

Wonderful story of love!

Wake the immortal strain.

Angels with rapture announce it,

Shepherds with wonder receive it;

Sinner, O won’t you believe it?

Wonderful story of love!

Refrain:

Wonderful! Wonderful!

Wonderful story, Wonderful story of love!

2 Wonderful story of love!

Though you are far away;

Wonderful story of love!

Still he doth call today.

Calling from Calvary’s mountain,

Down from the crystal bright fountain,

E’en from the dawn of creation;

Wonderful story of love!

3 Wonderful story of love!

Jesus provides a rest;

Wonderful story of love!

For all the pure and blest;

Rest in those mansions above us,

With those who’ve gone on before us,

Singing the rapturous chorus;

Wonderful story of love!

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL THURSDAY NOVEMBER 3RD 2022 FRIGHTENING MIRACLES

MEMORISE: For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken: Luke 5:9

READ: Luke 5:1 -9

1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

8 When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

9 For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:

MESSAGE

There are miracles and there are miracles. There are miracles that people hear about and just shout ‘halleluyah’ for shouting sake; they are not moved. There are some other miracles by which the recipients are rendered almost speechless because they are enjoying joy unspeakable (I Peter 1:8). There are yet some other miracles that are so wonderous that the recipient would find it hard to believe and thus conclude that he or she must have been dreaming. Finally, there are frightening miracles. These are those where the recipient becomes so frightened that he or she may even attempt to run away.

Many years ago, God provided a Mercedes Benz car for one of our elderly pastors in The Redeemed Christian Church of God. This is somebody who never completed elementary education and never dreamt that he would own any kind of vehicle, not to mention a Mercedes Benz. When my driver took the car to him and said, “Sir, this is a car for you and you will have your own driver, fully paid for” he asked, “What kind of joke is this?” “I’m not joking, this is coming from the General Overseer”. He turned from my driver and began to walk away. My driver followed him, saying “Sir please take the keys” but he increased speed. He had gotten a miracle that frightened him. This month, God will give you a miracle that will frighten you, in Jesus’ name.

In our Bible Reading for today, we see the template for getting frightened miracles. Peter had just fished all night and caught nothing. Of course, he must have been very tired and frustrated, but someone came to him, asking to use his boat and he said, “Yes” without charging Him rent to at least make up for the fruitless night he just had. Peter gave a sacrificial offering that day and Jesus in return gave him a miracle that frightened him so much that he told the Lord to stay away from him . In 2 Chronicles 1:6-7, Solomon gave a sacrificial offering and God made him the richest and wisest king that ever lived.

If you can do what no man has ever done for God, He will in return give you what He has never given any man.

KEY POINT

If you can do what no man has ever done for God, He will in return give you what He has never given to any man.

HYMN 17: O LORD MY GOD, WHEN I IN AWESOME WONDER

O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder
consider all the works thy hand hath made,
I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder,
thy power throughout the universe displayed;

Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee,
how great thou art, how great thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to thee,
how great thou art, how great thou art!

When through the woods and forest glades I wander
and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur
and hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze:
Then sings my soul…

And when I think that God, his Son not sparing,
sent him to die – I scarce can take it in
that on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
he bled and died to take away my sin:
Then sings my soul…

When Christ shall come with shouts of acclamation
and take me home – what joy shall fill my heart!
Then shall I bow in humble adoration
and there proclaim, ‘my God, how great thou art!’
Then sings my soul…

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 2ND 2022 NO SMALL PLATFORM

MEMORISE: And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Romans 10:15

READ: John 4:6 -30

6 Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.

7 There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink.

8 (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.)

9 Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.

11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?

12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?

13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:

14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

15 The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.

16 Jesus saith unto her, Go, call thy husband, and come hither.

17 The woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said unto her, Thou hast well said, I have no husband:

18 For thou hast had five husbands; and he whom thou now hast is not thy husband: in that saidst thou truly.

19 The woman saith unto him, Sir, I perceive that thou art a prophet.

20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship.

21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father.

22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

27 And upon this came his disciples, and marvelled that he talked with the woman: yet no man said, What seekest thou? or, Why talkest thou with her?

28 The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men,

29 Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?

30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him.

MESSAGE

The Almighty God sent His disciples out in Luke10:1-6 to preach in households. He gave them so much power just to preach to families -,not to organise crusade. He gave them pier to preach to households because no platform where you can preach to people is small at all. As long as there is one person to listen to the gospel of the Lord, the platform is big.

In John 4:6-30, Jesus preached to only one woman. It was in the course of that conversation that He gave the powerful revelation that, “God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). While many may have regarded preaching to just one person as a small platform, Jesus Christ said preaching to her was His meat (John 4:32-34).

I went to preach in a small rural Church which had no building. My children snapped the picture of me preaching there and put it on Internet and many people were surprised. I, on the other hand, wondered why people were surprised. It may have been a small Church, it may have been situated in rural area, but as long as there was someone, just,one person there that l could lead to Christ, l gladly went there to preach. In the Bible reading for today, Jesus concentrated a lot of effort into winning that woman’s soul and she brought the city to Him. That little gathering that look like a small platform probably has the next Adeboye in it. I am a village boy from lfewara. However, from that village, God won one soul to Himself and that one soul is now bringing millions of souls to His kingdom. Never underestimate any opportunity to win soul. Every platform given to you to preach the word of God is big

How many people do you have following you on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and so on? How many email addresses and phone numbers do you have on your contact list? All these are great platforms through which you can reach people for the Lord. The next Billy Graham may be on one of these platforms of yours; God may be counting on you to win that one soul to Him. Don’t waste that big platform you have to use it.

KEY POINT

There is no such thing as a small platform when it comes to preaching the gospel.
