OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 23RD 2016-‎ DEALING WITH ANCESTRAL CURSES II

Memorise: Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Colossians 2:14
Read: Colossians 2:14 (KJV)
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Bible in one year: Genesis 42-43, Psalms 107:10-22

AS REVEALED BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

1. Ancestral curses are said to be in operation when a terrible problem persistently runs through generations within a family. For example, an uncontrollable anger or promiscuity may be noticed in a teenager and on investigation; such is traced to the parents and grandparents.
2. When God is in control of your life, it will be evident through the tremendous peace that will calm your storms, but when the devil rules the life of an individual, there will be total confusion.
3. When the devil takes over the life of a man, everything will turn upside down. Instead of wearing clothes, he will walk about naked. Instead of wearing decent clothes, he will put on rags.
4. If one wears clothes that expose what should be covered, it is evident that such a fellow is losing his or her mind to the devil.
5. Anyone who uses mind-bending substances such as Indian hemp, cocaine, alcohol, cigarette or powerful capsules is living in a spiritual graveyard.
6. No matter how refined an individual is, if something is wrong with the head, it will show. What is the state of your head? Is it well with your head?

SHORT REFLECTION BY THE LIGHT POINTERS
Exodus 34:7 talks about keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children and the children’s children to the third and the fourth generation.” However, when we come into Christ, our lineage changes automatically. Also in 2 Corinthian 5:17 the bible says, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. When your daily living flows from God the father, the Son and the Holyspirit you are bound to live a curse free life. Make a decision to live in Him today and your life shall be flowing of blessings and joy.
Prayer Point
Father, please completely destroy the power of ancestral curses in my life in Jesus’ name.

>HYMN

1 My faith has found a resting place,
Not in device nor creed;
I trust the Ever-living One,
His wounds for me shall plead.
Refrain:
I need no other argument,
I need no other plea,
It is enough that Jesus died,
And that He died for me.
2 Enough for me that Jesus saves,
This ends my fear and doubt;
A sinful soul I come to Him,
He’ll never cast me out. [Refrain]
3 My heart is leaning on the Word,
The written Word of God,
Salvation by my Savior’s name,
Salvation through His blood. [Refrain]
4 My great Physician heals the sick,
The lost He came to save;
For me His precious blood He shed,
For me His life He gave. [Refrain]

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 22ND 2016-DEALING WITH ANCESTRAL CURSES I

Memorise: Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree. Galatians 3:13
Read: Colossians 2:14-18 (KJV)
14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Bible in one year: Genesis 40-41, Psalms 107:1-9

AS REVEALED BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL
1. Many people are suffering from curses which they know nothing about because the cause of the curses took place a very long time ago in their lineage.
2. Curses, including the one we inherited from Adam and Eve, are being dealt with by the work of redemption wrought by Jesus Christ, our Lord.
3. Jesus Christ went to the Cross with the age-long curses upon humanity. However, Jesus endured to the end and cried “It is finished”, that is, the price of the curse has been paid in full
4.if you want to effectively deal with the ancestral curses in your life, there is only one way and Jesus is that Way. He is the Lamb of God that is worthy to liberate you from the Devil

SHORT REFLECTION BY THE LIGHT POINTERS
Freedom from any kind of inherited curse either knowing or unknowingly is absolutely through Jesus Christ who took upon himself the guilt, pain, curse and all manner of calamities that would have came upon men. It was on the cross that all these curses were destroyed and even the wrath of God towards human kind was satisfied. Even the yoke of poverty was detroyed by Him ” For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich ” 2 Corinthian 8:9. If anyone is in Christ old things have passed away, we are no more under any bondage, no fear of death, no bondage to sickness and ancestral curse has no path is us.
Prayer Point
Father, I plead the blood of Jesus Christ, the Lamb that was slain for my deliverance and I break my link with my demonic past in Jesus’ name.
1 My faith has found a resting place,
Not in device nor creed;
I trust the Ever-living One,
His wounds for me shall plead.
Refrain:

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL MONDAY, NOVEMBER 21TH 2016– ‎MIRACLE-PRODUCING OBEDIENCE

Memorise: His mother saith unto the servants, whatsoever he saith unto you, do it. John 2:5
Read: John 2:1-11 (KJV)
1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.
3 And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
4 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.
5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
6 And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.
7 Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.
9 When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
10 And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.
11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.
Bible in one year: Genesis 37:12-39:23, Psalms 106:32-48

AS REVEALED BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

1. Many people do not know the secret of daily miraculous living. They think it has to do with strange things or occultism. Little do they know that a life of obedience enhances the supernatural intervention that results in miraculous events.
2. whenever you are trusting God for a miracle, you must not only be ready to receive instruction from God, you must also be attentive to the details of the instruction
3. Beloved, perfect obedience will change your story, just be willing to do whatever God asks you to do.
4. There was a marriage ceremony in Cana of Galilee and our Lord Jesus, His family and disciples were present. There came a need that only God could meet. The mother of Jesus Christ knew that the Representative of God was on ground to do what was humanly impossible. So, she approached the Miracle Worker but not without a seemingly negative reaction. It is interesting to note that despite our Lord’s reaction, His mother gave a profound instruction to the waiters. “…Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.” (John 2:5).

PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE’S DECLARATIONS IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

I decree to someone using this devotional; whatever potential shame the enemies are planning concerning you, God will intervene with a miracle that will nullify it.
SHORT REFLECTION BY THE LIGHT POINTERS
Perfect obedience is required for us to have the miracle we desire from God. In the account given in our memory verse in John 2:5, the mother of our Lord knew the key to solving the problem on ground is perfect obedience. Abraham was a minute away from completely obeying God before he got a replacement for the sacrifice required of him and through this he was able to have God’s promise to him established. King Jehoshaphat also went to battle with singers in the battle front as ordered by God and he and his army did not have to lay a finger on anyone yet they were all slain. Several other account of obedience in the bible produced an extra ordinary miracle. We should therefore follow the admonishing in Hebrews 6:12 which says “so that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” . Blessed be God for our father in the Lord Pastor E. A Adeboye for the great insight in today’s devotional. May he continually increase in strength and grace in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Point
Father, give me the spirit that trembles at your Word and does whatever You want me to do.

HYMN

1 O spread the tidings ’round, wherever man is found,
Wherever human hearts and human woes abound.
Let every Christian tongue proclaim the joyful sound:
The Comforter has come!
Refrain:
The Comforter has come! The Comforter has come!
The Holy Ghost from heav’n, the Father’s promise giv’n,
O spread the tidings ’round, wherever man is found:
The Comforter has come!
2 The long, long night is past; the morning breaks at last;
And hushed the dreadful wail and fury of the blast,
As o’er the golden hills the day advances fast!
The Comforter has come! [Refrain]
3 Lo, the great King of kings, with healing in His wings,
To every captive soul a full deliv’rance brings;
And thro’ the vacant cells the song of triumph rings;
The Comforter has come! [Refrain]
4 O boundless love divine! How shall this tongue of mine
To wond’ring mortals tell the matchless grace divine –
That I, a child of hell, should in His image shine?
The Comforter has come! [Refrain]

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH 2016-THE VISION OF HEAVEN

Memorise: He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. Revelation 21:7
Read: Revelation 21:1-7 (KJV)
1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
Bible in one year: Genesis 35:1-37:11, Psalms 106:13-31

AS REVEALED BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

1. You cannot overcome the trials and temptations of life, if you have not caught the vision of heaven. It is the vision of heaven that will encourage, stimulate and empower you to forge ahead as you violently take the Kingdom of God (Matthew 11:12).
2.When a child of God sees a vision of heaven, he will not need much persuasion to do more than he is currently doing in the Kingdom business of soul-winning and holy living
3. You cannot aspire for what has not been introduced into your consciousness.
4. In heaven, there shall be no more death, sorrow, crying and pain.
5. it is only those that overcome that shall inherit the beautiful heavenly Jerusalem.

SHORT REFLECTION BY THE LIGHT POINTERS

Often times when we have a vision and we are opportune to see a demo or model of exactly what we have in mind, it gives us a push till we are able to achieve it. In the same vein, when we study the word of God as regards the beautiful heavenly Jerusalem, we are charged to stay on track and strive to stand against anything that can deprive us of it. We have an assurance of the crown of glory, crown of life, crown of righteousness and eternal joy among other beautiful promises if we do not faint. I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us Romans 8:18. God will help us to remain in Him even as we reconcile lost souls back to Him in Jesus name. Blessed be God for our father in the Lord Pastor E. A Adeboye for the great insight in today’s devotional. May he continually increase in strength and grace in Jesus’ name.
Prayer Point
Father, open my eyes to see a vision of heaven today in Jesus’ name.

HYMN

1 When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more,
and the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair;
when the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
and the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
Refrain:
When the roll is called up yonder,
when the roll is called up yonder,
when the roll is called up yonder,
when the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.
2 On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise,
and the glory of His resurrection share;
ahen His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies,
and the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there. [Refrain]
3 Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun;
let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done,
and the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there. [Refrain]

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 19TH 2016-TRUSTING THE ARM OF FLESH?

Memorise: Who art thou, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel, thou shalt become a plain: And he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. Zachariah 4:7
Read: 2nd Chronicles 32:1-7 (KJV)
1 After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself.
2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,
3 He took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which were without the city: and they did help him.
4 So there was gathered much people together, who stopped all the fountains, and the brook that ran through the midst of the land, saying, Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find much water?
5 Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised it up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo in the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance.
6 And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the street of the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying,
7 Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him:
Bible in one year: Genesis 32:22-34:31, Psalms 106:1-12

AS REVEALED BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

1. There is nothing you want to become in life that you cannot be, when you leave your life in the hands of the Almighty God. There is nothing you want to achieve in life that you cannot achieve through the help of God.

2. Those who put their trust in flesh will never have peace. They are never sure of what will happen to them next. You can live in peace when you know that the Lord is by your side no matter what happens.

3. The man you are looking at today may be dead tomorrow, but there is a God in Heaven who never dies. The politician you look up to may lose the election tomorrow but there is a God who makes kings. He is the one who pulls one down and lifts the others. If you want to experience a permanent turnaround in your life, you have to cry to the Almighty God concerning that unpleasant situation and you will see help coming your way.

4. Do you desire to move from being mocked to being celebrated? Then turn to God. Do you want to operate in the miraculous? Turn to God. Have you been ignored and people are trying to push you out of relevance? Cry to God. Have people written you off as ‘never can succeed’? Cry to Jesus and you will see God arise to attend to your case. With God on your side, those arms of flesh who told you that without them you won’t make it will be the ones to ask you “WHO DID IT?” And you will be able to confidently reply them by saying “JESUS, OH MY GOD, WOW!”

SHORT REFLECTION BY THE LIGHT POINTERS
Most times when we are faced with challenges or mountains, we see the problem than we see God. Our God is from age to age. He was, He is and He is to come. Mighty, influential and powerful men have come and gone but our God is forever alive and the same. All we need to do in time of need is to turn to God. He is our ever present help in time of need. Let us emulate David who rejected the heavy amour of Saul; arm of flesh and challenged Goliath in the name of God Israel who is able to deliver the Israelites and we will also have victory that was recorded as regard the battle. Blessed be God for our father in the Lord Pastor E. A Adeboye for the great insight in today’s devotional. May he continually increase in strength and grace in Jesus’ name.
Key point
When Jesus is your root, you can never be uprooted by the devil.

HYMN

1 Standing on the promises of Christ my king,
through eternal ages let his praises ring;
glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
standing on the promises of God.
Refrain:
Standing, standing,
standing on the promises of God my Savior;
standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.
2 Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
by the living Word of God I shall prevail,
standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]
3 Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
bound to him eternally by love’s strong cord,
overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]
4 Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
listening every moment to the Spirit’s call,
resting in my Savior as my all in all,
standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL FRIDAY,NOVEMBER 18TH 2016– ‎BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS

Memorise: And what I say unto you I say unto all, watch. Mark 13:37
Read: Mark 13:30-37 (KJV)
30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.
34 For the Son of Man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.
35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:
36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.
37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.
Bible in one year: Genesis 31:1-32:21, Psalms 105:15-45

AS REVEALED BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

1. Because some people do not want to be confronted with the truth of the Word of God, they run from Bible believing churches to places where their atrocities can be allowed and covered. No matter how far you run from the truth, one day, you will be confronted by it.

2. False prophets will never allow you to see the light of the Word of God. The Word of God reveals and when your eyes opened, you will be able to differentiate between the real and the fake. False prophets will never deliver the mind of God to their followers because they are false. Their messages are in various colours and they use numerous ways to manipulate their victims.

3. There are many innocent children of God who have given false prophets access into their lives. Unfortunately, some of them never recover from the damage done to them.

4. A true prophet of God will not play god in your life. A true prophet will do all within his calling to help you receive God first before you begin to talk of receiving His blessings.

5. False prophets will not ordinarily leave you until they have completed their mission of stealing your treasures, killing your investments and destroying your glorious destiny through manipulation and deceits from the pit of hell.

SHORT REFLECTION BY THE LIGHT POINTERS
2 Tim 2: 15tells us to ” Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. When you study the word of God through the help of the holy spirit you are able to know the word of truth and have interpretation and better understanding of certain scripture. So when anyone is saying anything contrary to what the word of God says you are equipped with the truth and then cannot be deceived by any false teaching or declaration by a false prophet. We must watch and pray, be cautious and spiritually alert so as to be able to discern a false prophet when seen or encountered.
Prayer Point
Father, deliver me from every false prophet in my life in Jesus’ name.

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 17TH 2016-NARROW IS THE WAY

Memorise: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life and few there be that find it. Matthew 7:14
Read: Matthew 7:13-14 (KJV)
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Bible in one year: Genesis 29:30, Psalms 105:1-15

AS REVEALED BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

The way to eternal life is for those who are redeemed through the Blood of the Lamb and have crucified their flesh. They have become alive to the realm of the spirit.

Making it to heaven isn’t an easy thing to achieve. It takes a firm decision to make it there irrespective of what others may be doing. Those engaged in self-righteousness, laziness and hypocrisy will not find a place in heaven.

Only those who manifest the fruits of the spirit in their lives will be able to go through the narrow way. If any of the fruit is absent in your life, there is an urgent need to do a self-appraisal before it becomes too late.

There is a higher expectation from those who will make it to the kingdom of God, and this is why we need to understand that we need the help of the Almighty God. Jesus said there are people who profess Him as Lord everywhere they go, but not all of them will make it to His Kingdom.

Are you still living your life as a natural man? If yes, you cannot go through the narrow way. The natural man will have to be redeemed through the Blood of Jesus before he can access the narrow way.

SHORT REFLECTION BY THE LIGHT POINTERS
Our memory verse Matthew 7:14 says Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life and few there be that find it. There is no corner, bend, route to the left or right on the way of life. It is also not wide such that distractions can line up on the way and take our focus off heaven. If only we can make a firm decision and stick to it that regardless of whatever the devil tempts us with we will keep our head straight in our work with God. The word of God is the manual for every child of God and if it is strictly followed, we will surely maintain right standing before Him, be on track and win the race. We have to be dead to sin, consciously reject the enticement of the devil, make personal appraisal of one’s life to see if we are fully manifesting the fruits of the spirit and pattern our lives to be Christ like. Blessed be God for our father in the Lord Pastor E. A Adeboye for the great insight in today’s devotional. May he continually increase in strength and grace in Jesus name.
Prayer Point
Father by your grace, please help me to make it on the last day.

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 16TH 2016-ETERNAL LIFE STARTS HERE

Memorise: While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition: that the scripture might be fulfilled. John 17:12
Read: John 17:9-12 (KJV)
9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.
10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
Bible in one year: Genesis 27:28, Psalms 104:19-35

AS REVEALED BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

1. One truth we must always remember is that we are weak and we cannot keep ourselves. This is why it is important to be a partner with Jesus. Once you leave your life in His care, you can be sure that your blessing is guarantee in Him. The Almighty God will keep you in Jesus’ name.

2. There are sons of perdition that will refuse to be kept by Jesus Christ. They will always intentionally disobey the instructions of the father. They are usually referred to as rebellious children who will not allow their lives to be governed by the truth in the Word of God.

3. Children of perdition are those who have not said goodbye to sin. They are still living in sin and sin is a destroyer not a builder. Sin separates people from the blessings of God; it does not attract them to the place of God

4. Judgement is coming; to be forewarned is to be forearmed. Tomorrow may be too late. There is still an opportunity for you to rededicate your life. God rewards those who allow their lives to be guided by Him with pleasant blessings and assurances of security.

5. Those who refuse the government of Jesus have already exposed themselves to the wickedness of this world. You will not miss it in Jesus’ name.

SHORT REFLECTION BY THE LIGHT POINTERS
Today’s devotional points out the difference between those who have chosen the life of God by giving their heart and life to Jesus Christ and the disobedient ones who have never been in Christ or accepted the word to be true and/or those who have been children but then drew back. It’s an eye opener that there is an opportunity for the weary in service to reconnect and rededicate their lives to God the giver of strength, life, success and grace and every other good thing we can imagine.
Sin is a destroyer, a great obstacle to blessing and access to God. We have to work out our salvation with fear and trembling and it should start now and here on earth so as to hear on that day welcome the faithful servant. May God help us to remain in His hand and never fall in the category of son of perdition in Jesus’ name. The race is not to the swift. Thanks to Pastor E.A Adeboye for today’s devotional, may the Lord continue to keep and sustain you for us sir.
Prayer Point
Father let nothing take me away from you in Jesus’ name.
1 Take my life and let it be
consecrated, Lord, to thee.
Take my moments and my days;
let them flow in endless praise,
let them flow in endless praise.
2 Take my hands and let them move
at the impulse of thy love.
Take my feet and let them be
swift and beautiful for thee,
swift and beautiful for thee.
3 Take my voice and let me sing
always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be
filled with messages from thee,
filled with messages from thee.
4 Take my silver and my gold;
not a mite would I withhold.
Take my intellect and use
every power as thou shalt choose,
every power as thou shalt choose.
5 Take my will and make it thine;
it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart it is thine own;
it shall be thy royal throne,
it shall be thy royal throne.
6 Take my love; my Lord, I pour
at thy feet its treasure store.
Take myself, and I will be
ever, only, all for thee,
ever, only, all for thee.

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 15TH 2016-HOLIDAY IN YOUR CHRISTIAN WALK?

Memorise: And Jesus said unto him, no man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. Luke 9:62
Read: Ezekiel 3:20 (KJV)
20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Bible in one year: Genesis 25-26, Psalms 104:1-18

AS REVEALED BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

1. Lot’s wife missed it because she could not let go of her worldly affection. She did not make progress and she became a pillar of salt. This will not be your portion in Jesus’ name. Have you been walking with the Lord passionately and you are getting tired? You need to check your life. If you quit, then you have lived for nothing.

2 For our Christian walk to be commended by the host of heaven, we need to remain focused and committed to the end.

3. We should not allow the things of this world to deter us from the pursuit of true worship. Anyone who has said “goodbye” to the world should never go back. You cannot afford to go on a holiday during your Christian walk. Don’t create an opportunity for the devil and his demons to access your life. Continue to dwell in the presence of God through witnessing, the study of His Word, in prayers and in fasting.

4. A moment of ungodly pleasure will destroy a life of testimonies. Joseph refused to take a break with his master’s wife; he ran and delivered himself from the devil’s trap. Don’t look back to those things you have dropped for the sake of Christ.

5. You cannot afford to stop running until you are called up into glory. Endure to the very end.

SHORT REFLECTION BY THE LIGHT POINTERS
Two important words is to be noted and taken in the message of our father in the lord for today, ” Focus and Commitment” to the end. Also, as Christians we must pursue true worship all our lives. for John 4:24 says we must worship the father in spirit and truth . True worship takes us into the presence of God where devil and his cohorts is shut out of our lives. The numbers of years we have been in Christ or worked for Him become useless once we quit. As a disciple, we must focus on just one thing and work for just one master without distractions. We are soldiers for Christ and we should not rest on our battle field because this can help the enemy attack and/overtake. This will not be our portion in Jesus’ name. Thanks to Pastor E.A Adeboye for today’s devotional, may the Lord continue to keep and sustain you for us sir.

OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL MONDAY, NOVEMBER 14TH 2016– FACING TRIALS OF FAITH

Memorise; These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33.
Read Heb 11: 36-40
36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
38 (Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect
Bible in one year: Genesis 24, Psalms 103:11-22

AS REVEALED BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

1. There are several challenges that will confront us as we progress in the journey of faith, but none of them will dominate us. As a child of God, when you pass through the fire, the mighty man in battle has promised that it will not burn you.

2. No matter how good your intentions may be, sometimes, they may be spoken of in an evil way. Many times these tribulations, trials and persecutions will come from quarters you least expect. You should be not bothered because the same people who hailed the triumphant entry of Jesus were the same people, who said to Pilate, crucify him.

3. Despite the innocence of the young shepherd boy, king Saul attempted to kill him several times. You need to know that even in the household of faith, there are king Sauls. They are ready to kill you, not because you have committed any crime, but because they are uncomfortable with your standard of righteous living.

4. When Paul was going through persecution, rather than murmur and complain, he fellowshipped. No wonder he could say:“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”Romans 8:35, 37.

5. At one point or the other, your faith will be tried; your love for God will be tested. There will be persecutions of all kinds. Because of your belief in Christ, people will say all kinds of things against you. There will be false accusations despite your level of commitment to your assignment.

SHORT REFLECTION BY THE LIGHT POINTERS
Whatever we encounter that can be likened to trial or persecution should not make us give up on God because there is victory ahead. In Romans 8:36-37 the bible says ” As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us”. Thanks to Pastor E.A Adeboye for today’s devotional, may the Lord continue to keep and sustain you for us sir.
