Memorise: Who art thou, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel, thou shalt become a plain: And he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it. Zachariah 4:7
Read: 2nd Chronicles 32:1-7 (KJV)
1 After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennacherib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself.
2 And when Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib was come, and that he was purposed to fight against Jerusalem,
3 He took counsel with his princes and his mighty men to stop the waters of the fountains which were without the city: and they did help him.
4 So there was gathered much people together, who stopped all the fountains, and the brook that ran through the midst of the land, saying, Why should the kings of Assyria come, and find much water?
5 Also he strengthened himself, and built up all the wall that was broken, and raised it up to the towers, and another wall without, and repaired Millo in the city of David, and made darts and shields in abundance.
6 And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the street of the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying,
7 Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him:
Bible in one year: Genesis 32:22-34:31, Psalms 106:1-12

AS REVEALED BY PASTOR E.A ADEBOYE IN TODAY’S DEVOTIONAL

1. There is nothing you want to become in life that you cannot be, when you leave your life in the hands of the Almighty God. There is nothing you want to achieve in life that you cannot achieve through the help of God.

2. Those who put their trust in flesh will never have peace. They are never sure of what will happen to them next. You can live in peace when you know that the Lord is by your side no matter what happens.

3. The man you are looking at today may be dead tomorrow, but there is a God in Heaven who never dies. The politician you look up to may lose the election tomorrow but there is a God who makes kings. He is the one who pulls one down and lifts the others. If you want to experience a permanent turnaround in your life, you have to cry to the Almighty God concerning that unpleasant situation and you will see help coming your way.

4. Do you desire to move from being mocked to being celebrated? Then turn to God. Do you want to operate in the miraculous? Turn to God. Have you been ignored and people are trying to push you out of relevance? Cry to God. Have people written you off as ‘never can succeed’? Cry to Jesus and you will see God arise to attend to your case. With God on your side, those arms of flesh who told you that without them you won’t make it will be the ones to ask you “WHO DID IT?” And you will be able to confidently reply them by saying “JESUS, OH MY GOD, WOW!”

SHORT REFLECTION BY THE LIGHT POINTERS
Most times when we are faced with challenges or mountains, we see the problem than we see God. Our God is from age to age. He was, He is and He is to come. Mighty, influential and powerful men have come and gone but our God is forever alive and the same. All we need to do in time of need is to turn to God. He is our ever present help in time of need. Let us emulate David who rejected the heavy amour of Saul; arm of flesh and challenged Goliath in the name of God Israel who is able to deliver the Israelites and we will also have victory that was recorded as regard the battle. Blessed be God for our father in the Lord Pastor E. A Adeboye for the great insight in today’s devotional. May he continually increase in strength and grace in Jesus’ name.
Key point
When Jesus is your root, you can never be uprooted by the devil.

HYMN

1 Standing on the promises of Christ my king,
through eternal ages let his praises ring;
glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
standing on the promises of God.
Refrain:
Standing, standing,
standing on the promises of God my Savior;
standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.
2 Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
by the living Word of God I shall prevail,
standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]
3 Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
bound to him eternally by love’s strong cord,
overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]
4 Standing on the promises I cannot fall,
listening every moment to the Spirit’s call,
resting in my Savior as my all in all,
standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]
