OPEN HEAVENS DEVOTIONAL: SUNDAY, DECEMBER 18TH 2016-A MESSENGER WITH A MESSAGE

Read: 2nd Timothy 4:1-5 (KJV)
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
Bible in one year: Leviticus 10-12, Psalms 120-122

1. The whole of the Bible and everything about Christianity is summed up in the Gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. The proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which arises naturally from believer’s love for God and the appreciation of all that He has done for us, is known as evangelism.
2. The focus of evangelism is the proclamation of the good news of the coming of the kingdom of God, including forgiveness of sins and hope of eternal life, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ
3. Jesus feet are said to be polished brass. This indicates that His feet are empowered trample upon His enemies.
4. If you are truly located in your place of authority in Christ Jesus, the only place your enemies can be is under your feet.
5. Every soul you win for God’s Kingdom turns your feet to be as strong as the Lord’s so that you can easily have victory over your enemies.

Let’s awake from ignorance and understand the power and benefits in the primary assignment committed to us by Christ Jesus. Evangelism is also a weapon for answers to our prayers, it is high time we open our understanding of the truth behind winning souls to the kingdom of God. Like we also say, if you have prayed about a resistance situation, switch on to praising your maker and if that seems not to be enough, why not try evangelism. As the bibles says in John 15:16 ” You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. Brethren, truly we have not chosen Him, he has appointed and ordained us to the ministry of reconciliation of souls and if we do it faithfully, the rewards are enormous.
